I am a Muslim Birth Attendant/ doula based in Edinburgh, Scotland, serving women throughout the childbearing continuum. I believe birth is a powerful, spiritual event, and every woman deserves to experience it that way.

What can it look like?
Spiritual
Most women, regardless of belief, see the transition into motherhood as a spiritual event. I believe that the people supporting you should honour that. When I am supporting a woman I am there also to acknowledge all the facets of her that are intangible, through prayer and trust.
Physical
Labour isn't called labour for nothing. For some women it can be a lot of work and sometimes that requires physical support like rebozo or holding. Sometimes just having a calming physical presence does a lot to alter the atmosphere of your birthing space.
Emotional
As birth is a rite of passage, many things can come up throughout pregnancy, labour and in the postpartum period. I am here to be an empathetic and loving container for you to move through and with these feelings.
Informational
We live in the age of information. Often it can be conflicting and overwhelming and add more stress to your pregnancy than answers. I can help by "sharing the map" with you, giving you context and evidence-based information to help you feel informed and confident.
